Service Improvement Assistant Project Manager

Job Introduction

Adult Social Care Transformation and Improvement are looking for a dynamic and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be at the heart of our Adult Social Care Transformation and Improvement Programme, managing small-scale projects and supporting the Programme Lead with larger ones, in a supportive and forward-thinking environment that encourages new ideas. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing the lives of our community.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will create and maintain essential project documentation, ensuring everything is on track and delivering real benefits. You will manage or support projects from discovery to completion, documenting outcomes and lessons learned to support continuous improvement. Your analytical skills will be crucial in tracking and reporting on project data, risks, and benefits, ensuring we achieve our goals.

Engaging with stakeholders is a key part of this role. You will work closely with the Engagement Team to ensure co-production is at the core of all projects. Your excellent communication skills will help you build strong relationships, provide updates, and respond to queries promptly. Additionally, you will coordinate resources and organise project meetings, ensuring actions are completed and timelines are met.

To be successful in this role, you should have practical knowledge of Adult Social Care and project management methodologies, along with experience in managing small-scale projects and supporting larger ones. Proficiency in MS Office applications and strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly. This means that the salary you will be offered will be at level A unless, based on an assessment against the CPF criteria, you demonstrate that you are meeting the criteria of level B or C.  There will be further opportunity once in post to progress from level A to B, and B to C.

The person specification of a job profile is split into three levels:
   
   Level A details the essential criteria that all applicants must be able to demonstrate through their application and interview.

Level B details the developed competencies that an individual who is practised in this role would be able to demonstrate and will be a progression of knowledge, experience and skills from level A.

Level C requires the highest level of competence and applicants would need to fully meet and demonstrate all aspects of the job profile, including qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.

You can demonstrate knowledge, experience and skills to allow you to perform within this role.  You will identify, through application, how you meet the elements detailed within the person specification, at either Level A, B or C.    You will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs.
