An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Business Administration Apprentice to join the Recruitment & Resourcing Team (R&R), within Human Resources (HR). This is a fantastic opportunity to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 whilst working for the R&R team at Medway Council. R&R are a fun, enthusiastic and busy team that provide support to all departments within the council, delivering a range of administrative support services including advertising job vacancies, requesting and chasing employment checks and full compliance for new starters, and assisting Recruiting Managers in all aspects of the recruitment process.
Our apprenticeship offer provides an excellent insight in the world of business administration, with full training and support from managers and colleagues within our service. At the end of the apprenticeship our aim is for all of our apprentices to feel ready and able to apply for permanent jobs equipped with the experience and qualification they will have gained during their time with us.
As a service we have an excellent track record of our apprentices having successfully gained permanent employment either within Medway Council (through a competitive interview process), or in other public services or private companies.
Please note:
- Apprenticeship: Level 3-Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship.
- Job Status: Fixed Term 18-24 months.
- Location: Hybrid – Due to building works commencing at Gun Wharf, you may be required to work at any location within Medway and part from home.
As part of this exciting role you can expect to undertake tasks such as:
- Data inputting.
- Scanning.
- Filing.
- Updating electronic systems.
- Email inbox monitoring.
- Maintenance of database.
- Room bookings.
- Using the council finance systems.
- Responding to simple queries via telephone or email.
For Level 3 Apprentices - The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two-year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves approximately 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.
Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However, we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
