Occupational Therapy Team Manager - Children and Young People Disability Team *INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY*

Job Introduction

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead our Occupational Therapy 0–18 Service, supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a dedicated team of professionals delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions across a diverse caseload.

The role requires you to work in a multi-disciplinary setting. The main duties include - providing leadership and supervisory and oversight to 1 Senior Occupational Therapist and 5  Occupational Therapists.

The post holder will do this through the provision of management, professional expertise, skills and advice to ensure we deliver high quality services within Children Social Care. 

The Team Manager will deliver a safe, strength-based service, promoting and improving independence, ensuring comprehensive person-centred assessments, reviews and interventions ensuring residents are safeguarded, enabling choice and control regarding their accommodation, care and support needs.

The post holder will act as a role model and expert practitioner within the team. You will build on the team’s ethos of reflective practice, learning and development.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational management for the OT 0–18 team.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred services in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Manage performance, budgets, and resources to achieve service objectives.
  • Support staff development through supervision, training, and appraisal.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to promote integrated care.
  • Drive service improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning.

About you

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.
  • Significant experience working within paediatric OT services.
  • Proven leadership and management skills within a health or social care setting.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Additional details

This post requires a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service DBS check at Enhanced level.
