We are currently recruiting for a HAF Project Coordinator on a 1-year fixed term contract. As part of the National Holiday Activities and Food programme, Medway is awarded funding by the Department for Education (DfE) to co-ordinate free holiday activities and healthy food for children eligible for free school meals (FSM).
The aim of the role is to provide high quality, timely and comprehensive administrative support to successfully deliver of our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, known locally as Medway Go.
To work collaboratively with colleagues within the Council, Health Professionals, leisure providers, education establishments, voluntary sector and the public to deliver the project and work with delivery partners across Medway to support Medway’s most vulnerable families.
To support the expression of Interest process and the award of grants to successful delivery partners and continue clear communication and feedback channels throughout the year.
To ensure data and information required by the DfE is accurate and collected to agreed timescales and that this is analysed and summarised as required for reporting to the DfE.
The role supports the promotion of the Medway Go programme to communities across Medway and evaluating the quality of the programme delivered by providers.
Contribute to the delivery of evidence-based projects to improve health and wellbeing in Medway by supporting the achievement of local and national targets and strategies relating to Public Health.
To work in the context of Medway’s ‘Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy’ and the Public Health Outcomes Framework to reduce health inequalities.
Provide effective project support to enable the successful development and delivery of public health projects and initiatives, working as part of a team to support the whole department and providing cover when needed.
The role will involve liaising with service users and system partners in a way that promotes the vision and values of the Council.

Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly. The salary you will be offered will be at level A. There will be further opportunity once in post to progress from level A to B, and B to C.

The person specification of a job profile is split into three levels:
Level A details the essential criteria that all applicants must be able to demonstrate through their application and interview.
Level B details the developed competencies that an individual who is practised in this role would be able to demonstrate and will be a progression of knowledge, experience and skills from level A.
Level C requires the highest level of competence and applicants would need to fully meet and demonstrate all aspects of the job profile, including qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
We are seeking a HAF Project Coordinator to join the team at level A. This is the entry point of the role, so you will need to be able to demonstrate the relevant knowledge, experience and skills to get you started, but you will be supported to develop in your role through induction, probation and a supportive Performance Appraisal and Career Conversation. All elements of level A listed within the person specification are essential. Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs.
