Casual Function Manager

Join the vibrant team at the Rochester Corn Exchange and play a pivotal role in delivering a diverse range of events at one of Medway’s most prestigious venues. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Casual Function Manager to help ensure the smooth, professional, and memorable delivery of functions and activities throughout the historic building.

 

In this dynamic and customer facing role, you will act as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, suppliers, and casual staff. Whether supporting corporate meetings, weddings, community celebrations, or private parties, you will bring exceptional organisational skills, confidence in decision making, and the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each event.

 

As a Casual Function Manager, you will:

· Oversee operational delivery on event days.

· Provide outstanding customer care, ensuring clients feel supported from arrival through to the end of their event.

· Supervise casual team members, ensuring smooth coordination and high service standards.

· Maintain compliance with licensing laws, health and safety requirements, and the Council’s financial procedures, including the secure handling of money.

· Act as the on-site licensee during events, taking responsibility for safety, security, and the overall running of the venue.

· Uphold Medway Council’s vision and values, promoting a safe, inclusive and professional environment for all users of the venue.

 

We are looking for someone with:

· Experience in event operations and a strong understanding of customer-focused service.

· Supervisory experience within a hospitality, events, or similar environment.

· Knowledge of licensing regulations related to the sale of alcohol.

· Confidence in solving problems, using initiative, and adapting to changing demands.

· A friendly, proactive approach and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.

 

This is a fixed-location role based at Rochester Corn Exchange. You will play an essential part in helping us deliver safe, well-managed, and unforgettable events for our clients and their guests.
